BUTCHER v/s SAINT

Last Saturday was like dream come true but it turned into a nightmare… I feel after becoming a journalist one corner of my heart is becoming a butcher while the other is very emotional… it’s a confession on Saturday as I heard that there is a serial blast in Delhi immediately I could feel the evil spark in my eyes and I was feeling “WOW” a lifetime opportunity to cover serial blast…I rushed to the spot with my fellow reporter and while I was driving the only thing going in my mind was death toll and number of blast…
My first spot was CP and like every reporter I pulled up my socks and started my work I was full of energy as my fellow reporters were on their feet. I almost took a round of every bomb blast site and was thinking of SCOOP that’s it. But I came to stand still as I entered the premises of RML hospital. It was heartbreaking to people soaked in blood, women crying and looking for their relative…my brain stopped working and my heart became heavier. Innocent people killed in the blast made me feel as if I am guilty for this blast who always wished to cover it and look what I have done I have taken 25 innocent lives who do not even know what does SIMI and IM stands for…
But the bitter fact of the life is despite all pain and sorrow I had to file my story and now no more I want to cover any blast as after all it takes life of innocent people. So it’s not about profession it’s about humanity…

They changed my son

Author: Shashank Shekhar

A couple has alleged that their new-born male child was swapped for a girl child in a Noida hospital.

According to Kishor Srivastava, father of the baby, the Surbhi hospital authorities had told him that his wife Maya had given birth to a baby boy but later after a few hours they said the baby was a girl.

A mistake ?

Kishor told MiD DAY, "My wife under went a caesarian at around 5:44 am on Sunday and we were informed by a nurse that a baby boy was born but after three hours of delivery we were told that it was girl. I don't mind having a boy or girl but how can a hospital make such mistake.

Foul play

"There is some foul play. Just after the delivery I informed all my relatives about the baby boy but after three hours they changed their statement."

Kishor also alleged that no one from his family was allowed to attend the operation and no one had seen the baby after the operation.

'Misinformation'

"The mother of the baby is unaware whether she has given birth to a boy or girl, as the baby was not shown to us. Three babies were born today two of which are girls and one is boy we are still not sure why hospital authority misinformed us," he said.

Miscommunication

The hospital authorities said it is a clear case of "miscommunication," completely denying that swapping has been done.

Dr Preeti Chauhan, who carried out the operation said, "I am very sure that Maya gave birth to a girl and don't know who communicated to her family that it's a boy. We are ready for all medical tests.

We have asked the relatives of the patient to conduct the DNA test of the baby and mother. If some one is found guilty of miscommunicating with the patient and her relatives, due action would be taken," she said.

Wi-Fi threat

Author: Shashank shekhar

Wi-Fi provides Internet connectivity through a wireless router to computers having a Wi-Fi enabled card installed in them.
The router is connected to the Internet by means of a modem, typically a cable or DSL modem. Any user within 200 feet or so (about 61 meters) of the access point can connect to the Internet, though for good transfer rates, distances of 100 feet (30.5 meters) or less are more common. Retailers also sell wireless signal boosters that extend the range of a wireless network.
Wi-Fi networks can either be “open”, such that anyone can use them, or “closed”, in which case a password is needed. An area under a wireless access blanket is often called a wireless hotspot.
If you have an unsecured wireless Internet connection then chances is high that someone close to your house maybe surfing the Internet using your connection and bandwidth without your knowledge.
The situation is worse if you are a regular net banking customer or shop online. There is a high possibility that your passwords and sensitive information are being stolen.
Arun Bansal Internet security consultant said, “It is very easy to send mail via Wi-Fi without getting traced. Every computer has same IP address after getting connected to a Wi-Fi network. Many hackers do ‘war driving’, which mean a virtual recce of the locality and scan the unsecured Wi-Fi network. Usually security feature are there in all the Wi-Fi networks but people are not not aware about them and thus do not switch it on.”
Another Internet security provider Rajat Khare said, “It becomes very hard to trace the threat mail sender as all the computers under a Wi-Fi network share the same IP address. Wi-Fi router has a default password so it is very easy to change that. To ensure security many companies have a list of computers and laptops which access the Internet through their Wi-Fi connection, and if any new device tries to enter it a message is flashed.”

HOW TO ENSURE SAFETY

Making the wi-fi secured is available with all the service provider. One just need to do is activate the password, which would always ask a new device the password to get the access.

"hang my father"

Author: shashank shekhar

“Hang my father. He killed my mother and wanted to kill me and my brother too,” says class I student Shreyansh Yadav, who witnessed Sherpal Yadav killing his wife Sonia with his car seat belt in Noida.
Shreyansh, brimming with anger says, “My mother was regularly beaten up by him and whenever I tried to save her, my father used to beat me up too. He often locked us in the room while quarrelling.”
“On July 28, my father tried to dump her in the manhole outside our house. I shouted for help and rescued my mother,” he added.
Recalling the appalling day when Sonia was murdered, the young student of Cambridge School says, “That night, my parents had a heated argument and my father was abusing my mother. Suddenly he strangled her with the car seat belt. I tried to open the door but he locked it with the car remote. I couldn’t even open the window pane. Then he threatened to kill me also.”
“My mother always used to cry in front of me. I decided I’ll become police inspector to take revenge,” Shreyansh said.
He further added, “On my last birthday my father asked her to leave the house so that he could marry another woman.”
Sherpal’s parents who are now taking care of his children, are worried about Shreyansh’s security as his statement has put the accused behind the bars. His grandfather Uday Veer, who works in Noida authority said, “we are not letting him go alone anywhere.”

High iPhone prices upset hackers

Author: Shashank Shekhar

The high price of 3G iPhones has disappointed Indian hackers working hard to crack its code which is locked with the Vodafone and Airtel network.
Hackers were gearing up to make this revolutionary mobile phone compatible with all the service providers. iPhone is available for Rs 31000 and 36,100 for 8GB and 16 GB respectively in India, which is almost thrice of the prices in US. A software expert Anoop Shaw (name changed) who has imported many iPhones in India told MiD DAY, “The iPhones are in demand. Many Indian hackers were working to crack its code to make it functional with other networks. But it’s very expensive, so hackers have given up.”
“Getting the iPhones from abroad and selling them here is still cheaper and I think people would continue to buy from us,” he said.
Shaw further added, “Turbo SIM is the latest technology which helps to crack most of the expensive phones in India and I hope it would also work on the iPhones. It looks like any other card, a thin flexible strip embedded with an integrated circuit (IC). It is inserted in the mobile slot along with the regular SIM card. Besides, it also enables the user to hide the cellphone's International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number that is unique to every GSM mobile.”
The service providers are also set to keep the hackers at bay. Airtel technical experts claim that it would be impossible to crack the code of iPhone, which would come with Airtel. The security system of is so stringent that it would not accept all the applications. Even if a hacker somehow manages to make voice call, he won’t be able to access the entertainment feature on Airtel Live.
According to a survey, there are around 1.5 lakh iPhones already floating in the country, which were made available through grey market. India was ranked as third largest unofficial market after China and Russia.

iPhone in India

Author: Shashank Shekhar

No video recording, no SMS forward feature, no Bluetooth compatibility with other cell phones and no 3G till now, we are not talking about ordinary mobiles easily available in the market, but these are some drawbacks of India’s version of Apple 3G iPhone.
That is not all. The iPhone many people have been waiting for would burn a hole in the pocket. This much talked about phone is available for Rs 31,000 and Rs 36,100 for the 8GB and 16GB versions respectively, which was expected to be around Rs 25,000.
Still overlooking these drawbacks, passionate buyers of iPhone flocked at the Airtel outlet of the Sahara Mall Gurgaon and Vodafore store at the Connaught place. Besides Delhi, it is available in Mumbai, Kolkata Chennai and and Bangalore
Swati, a MBA student who was first in queue at the Sahara Mall said, “I came six hours in advance to get the honour of first official iPhone owner.” The phone was handed over to her by Sanjay Kapoor, president of Bharti Mobile Services.
Garment Exporter Aditya Mallick, who already posses an expensive Vertu set became the first person to buy iPhone from Vodafone store. Mallick was waiting to buy this Gizmo ever since 2G iPhone was launched in US on June 5, 2007. He said, “I missed the chance to bag one when it was launched in US. Even though I don’t know much about iPhone’s feature, I am glad to buy it.”
The fanfare for the mobile was not the same as it was in US, but around five enthusiastic buyers turned up to buy the iPhone at midnight from the Vodafone store. There was a 14-year-old boy at the store waiting for his chance to pick up the gadget. Rudra Khurana, a student of Modern School said, “Tomorrow is my exams and I am here to splash out on 16 GB iPhone. I am very excited as I would be the first one in my group to get it.”
Businessman Nishan Arya who calls himself a gadget geek said, “This is my first 3G iPhone and I already have five 2G iPhones.”

HOW TO GET THE PHONE:
The phone is available at first come first serve basis. iPhones will also be locked to Airtel and Vodafone SIM cards with previous customers required to have their existing SIM card with them at time of purchase.

Man strangled wife with the seat belt

Author : Shashank shekhar

A Noida property dealer strangled to death his wife with a seat belt while his two children wept in the back seat of the car and tried to stop him from committing the murder late on Thursday night. He then drove to the Sector 39 police station and surrendered himself before the police.
Sherpal, a resident of C 148 of Sector 51, suspected that his wife Sonia Yadav was having an extra marital affair. The couple had a heated argument on the issue while they were returning home from a temple along with their two children. The argument turned so violent that Sherpal stopped the car and started beating Sonia. When she retaliated, he strangled her to death using his car seat belt. All this while, his two kids, two-year-old Daksh and seven-year-old Shreyansh, cowered in the back seat, shouting and weeping as they watched their mother getting killed. Shreyansh even tried to save Sonia but could do nothing against his father who threatened to kill him as well.
Police official were shocked when Sherpal entered the sector 39 police station of Noida and said, “I have killed my wife and her body is in the car”. Immediately, policemen rushed to the car and found the body of a woman was lying on the front seat and her two children were weeping in the rear seat.
Soon after the incident, a smiling Sherpal told MiD DAY from behind bars at the police station: “I don’t regret having killed her. At least now I have got respite from our daily fights.”
According to the police, Shreyansh is so shocked after the incident that for quite sometime, he kept on repeating over and over again that ‘my father has killed my mother.’ The child told the police that Sherpal often used to beat his mother.
“Yesterday also they started fighting in the car and when I tried to stop him, my father asked me to stay quiet or he would beat me up too,” Shreyansh reportedly told the police.
Sherpal was arrested after the murder .Meanwhile angry relative of Sonia came to the police station and asked that Sherpal be handed over to them so that they may take their revenge.
According to a senior police official, “Sherpal has confessed to his crime. He said that he was under a lot of stress because his wife had eloped with someone for 15 days.”
Sherpal is not regretting for his act as he said, “I don’t regret for what ever I have done at least I got freedom from everyday fight. ”
