Shots were fired in the air at the Indian Hospital in Shalimar Bagh by attendants of an emergency patient and the hospital staff allegedly beaten up by cops in a late night fracas which has left charges flying all around.According to the hospital, at around 9:30 pm four men brought a badly injured man to the casualty ward of the hospital. They refused to reveal their identity when the hospital staff questioned them and entered into a heated argument with them. They allegedly broke the glass door of the hospital and shot bullets in the air. Foul play suspectedMeanwhile, the hospital staff, who suspected some foul play, called up the police. The chairman of the Indian Hospital, Rajesh Kumar Singh, said, "We informed the police about the patient and the fight between the hospital staff and four outsiders. Instead of questioning them, the police started beating up the staff.""Three of our employees are being admitted in the ICU. We have already spoken to the DCP and would also address the issue to Commissioner Delhi police," he added.Different storyThe police have a different story to tell. A police officer said, "The hospital staff asked for Rs 40,000 to admit the patient following which the brawl took place. And the allegation that the police had beaten up the hospital staff is baseless." The patient was later shifted to Safdarjung hospital.
